I see these women in the “body positive” community make the comment a lot that: All women are ‘real women’. They actually get annoyed when someone calls them a “real woman. uhhhh wtf! I disagree 100%. Being a ‘real’ woman to me is a positive thing. It is easy to go get surgery. It is easy to get fake everything put on. Those are not the kind of women young girls should be looking up to if we ever want them to achieve a good sense of self. How are they ever supposed to live up to that shit? They cannot. Because IT IS FAKE.
I sincerely think women who tout the idea of body positivity as some stupid emotional movement that MUST include everyone are doing it a disservice. The idea is to promote self acceptance, not being ‘fake’ to accept yourself. There IS a difference. In one breath they say you should accept yourself as you are flaws and all, stop trying to change for the world around you. That I agree with. Then they say BUT everybody is a ‘real’ woman. Hell no. Fuck that. Women who choose to be fake, have surgery, they forwent the notion of self acceptance. I do not agree with promoting that.
How are we ever supposed to change perceptions if we keep creating new fake ones? Weather it comes in the form of photoshop or ass implants, it is fake. It is misleading. It is promoting the idea that you are not good enough the way you are naturally. It most defiantly sets our youth up for failure. They continue to have progressively more unrealistic ideas to live up to.
So please call me a real woman. I take that shit as a compliment, gladly. Because the people saying it know what the fuck they are saying, they are tired of all the fake everything they see around them.
I do not have a problem with women having surgery or things like that on an individual level.Do what you wish. Really, I couldn’t care less what is in your undergarments. Just don’t tell me you are part of the self acceptance crowd, it sets off my b.s. meter. No sweetheart, I’ll sit here and accept my sagging tits while yours sit all silicone and perky up there.
